Responsibilities
- Perform the daily duties of a pharmacist
o Verify prescriptions and perform DUR responsibly to ensure all information is complete and accurate
o Greet customers and answer questions
o Answer the phone
o Cashier duties
o Dispensing and data entry if necessary
o Counsel patients (prescription, OTC, supplements)
o Provide pharmaceutical care to patients including immunizations
o Work with the team to manage inventory/profitability
o Comply with all legal requirements and safety standards
o Resolve issues when they arise
- Pharmacist-in-charge duties
o Work closely with lead technician to manage and supervise pharmacy staff
o Lead by example
- Promoting high standards of service and care
- Fostering a positive, team-oriented atmosphere
- Professional demeanor
o Address customer requests and complaints
o Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations
o Maintain proper record keeping
o Ensure the proper handling of inventory, especially controlled substances and report any discrepancies or losses
o Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures
o Respond promptly to insurance audits and board inspections
o Recruit and assist in training new hires
o Conduct employee evaluations
o Report to the owners of the pharmacy
o Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy
o Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
· Active, unrestricted CO pharmacist license
· Current immunization and BLS certification
· Excellent multi-tasking and communication skills
· Previous management experience in a retail pharmacy setting (minimum of 2 years)
· Strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills with all levels of the pharmacy team
· Knowledge of compounded medication or a desire to learn
· Knowledge of supplements or a desire to learn
