Job Summary:
As a BlackLine Consultant you will play a pivotal role in configuring and implementing BlackLine products to streamline financial processes. This long-term contract position offers initial onsite presence with the potential for remote work based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demo and discuss client requirements
- Serve as the hands-on system administrator to lead and drive configuration and implementation of BlackLine
- Products - Account Reconciliation, Task Management, Transaction Matching and Journals
- Coaches and consults with clients to advocate the features and functionality of BlackLine products during configuration in order to obtain buy-in and user adoption.
- Communicates with key stakeholders to ensure risk awareness, set expectations, and define next steps in a timely manner.
- Work with team members in India to drive efficiency across the board for the project.
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication to quickly understand, troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve system issues for BlackLine end users. Trains and advises clients to properly use appropriate products to best fit their individual needs based on best practices and use cases.
- Offers recommendations for improving system performance gaps and system options to increase efficiencies and achieve best practice standards.
- Work with BlackLine Product team to test functionality in case of product updates.
- Drives and manages all support tickets to resolve issues within SLA.
- Assesses and troubleshoots application issues during the support period.
- Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, designing optimal BlackLine configurations and workflows to address client needs, considering best practices and industry standards.
- Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to BlackLine, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test scripts to thoroughly validate system functionality, including user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
- Provide end-user training on BlackLine features and functionalities, including documentation and knowledge transfer to enable smooth adoption.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, processes, and industry best practices, including account reconciliation, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of database concepts, data manipulation, and integration technologies to facilitate data migration and system connections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting / Cost Accounting or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of accounting terminology and processes (e.g. month-end close process)
- 5 years of experience as a BlackLine system administrator
- BlackLine Certified Consultant for BlackLine Products - Core and Journal Entries
