The Breckenridge Child Care Director oversees all aspects of a year round, licensed child care center and two seasonal child care centers. Manages development of employee and guest child care programs in order to ensure exceptional child care experiences at the resort. Responsible for satisfying guest complaints, maintaining and improving system efficiency and designing department budgets. Continuously checks compliance with company policies, state child care and health regulations, and department policies and procedures for all staff, parents, and children. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for maintaining an extraordinary child care program for employee and guest infants, toddlers, and pre-school children
  • Responsible for the safety and wellfare of children enrolled in the child care programs
  • Financial Responsibilities: develops budgets for fiscal year, ensures accurate and efficient posting of all revenue and labor through RPOS, manages operations to meet budgeted targets and can adjust operations depending on business volumes
  • Employee Engagement: develops and ensures completion of annual action plans to improve the experience and work environment for all child care employees; also includes employee recognition and employee relations
  • Works with counterparts in other departments and resorts in order to provide seamless and exceptional guest experiences
  • Oversees all aspects of personnel management including: training, coaching, payroll, performance appraisals for direct reports, disciplinary issues, ensures that each location manager and their respective teams adhere to department and company policies
  • Works with the director of skier services and and other members of the resort's management team on long term planning, child care capital projects  and development of the overall vision for the resort
  • Responsible for consistency of quality and product development between all three child care locations
  • Oversees all marketing and online aspects for the department: includes brochures, business cards, promotions, products and pricing, Wake-Up Breck, website information and online bookings
  • Purchasing: responsible for compliance with company policies for all purchases, responsible for delegating purchasing training, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Maintenance of facilities to meet state licensing and local health requirements

 

Requirements:

  • 10 ECE college courses from an accredited university as required by Colorado State Licensing (required) -  Masters or Bachelors in ECE preferred. (For a list of courses, please visit the CDHS website;)
  • At least 1 year experience working directly with infants and toddlers in a licensed group setting; experience and/or training with financial responsibilities as listed on the job description
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a minimum of 5 employees at a supervisory level
  • CO State Large Center Director Qualification
  • Infant Supervisor qualified as determined by CO state licensing
  • CO State Level 2 Credential from OPD - preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel, capable of learning new computer programs and applications
  • Fluent English Required
  • Must be capable and comfortable stepping into a classroom to care for children ages 2 months to 5 years
  • Self-motivator, team builder, organized and capable of meeting multiple deadlines
