PURPOSE
Operate chair lifts and zip lines within the guidelines of Utah tramway safety committee rules and ANSI B77 Code books.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES(but are not limited to)
- Provide extraordinary service to our guests, internal and external, by following the Resort Standards and Values
- Responsible for following the company’s safety and risk management policies and procedures
- Responsible for assuring that the Director of Lifts, Manager, Supervisors, and Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, observations, or lift malfunctions
- Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submitting in a timely manner
- Must treat all company property and personnel with respect and care
- Maintain clean lift stations, tools, equipment, vehicles and shop work areas
- Assist in the on-going training and support of seasonal lift operations
- Must be proficient in all phases of a Lift Technician I requirements
- Emphasis on proficiency and high productivity in lift maintenance
- Evacuate a lift under auxiliary power in all circumstances
- Respond to assigned lifts in the event of a failure to productively resolve the situation in a timely manner
- Identify if a lift can be moved safely
- Must be able to name all the components of the lift including mechanical and electrical components located at each station
- Determine safe operating speed of lift given current weather conditions
- Perform a variety of lift maintenance and construction tasks and projects as assigned
- Perform other tasks as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to work at significant heights
- Ability to become a certified climber
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds unassisted
· Exposure to inclement weather conditions
· Ability to stand for long periods of time
· Bending, squatting, climbing and lifting heavy objects
· Manual dexterity
· Ability to operate vehicles, snowmobiles and four wheelers
· Must have the ability to ski or ride at intermediate level
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have valid driver’s license & pass MVR as required by Canyons Driving Policy
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- The ability to work rotating schedule including weekends and nights
- Personal hand tools required
- Ability to identify and use basic hand tools
- Reliable transportation
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school education or equivalent.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Some high and low voltage electrical knowledge.
- 4 years of mechanical experience required to include all systems and components
- Must have working knowledge of manufacturers maintenance requirements
