General Manager - Seasonal - Kirkwood - CA
Job Summary:
The General Manager position is responsible for the day to day operations and management of the restaurant. This person will supervise and coordinate of all food & beverage employees, motivating them to work hard and play hard at our eclectic mountain resort! In this year-round role, the General Manager of the Kirkwood Inn also plays an instrumental role in other areas, such as, assisting with weddings and catered events during the summer; assists in winter ramp-up efforts as a resource for new managers; assists in recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff for winter ramp up; assists with various projects related to the Mtn. Dining department year-round.
Specific job duties are, but not restricted to:
Manages the restaurant at all times to assure high quality of service and product.
Coordinates efforts of all food & beverage personnel; assures adequate staffing and supervision.
Assures completion of necessary paperwork as needed on a daily basis. POS Reconciliation, Facility Check List, Safety Meetings.
Schedule all staff consistent with budgeted levels.
Maintaining time and labor reports.
Reviewing financial reports daily.
Assisting in writing the budget for the Kirkwood Inn.
Maintains budgeted cost of sales percentages.
Responsible for opening/closing.
Overall lodge/restaurant cleanliness.
Inspect quality of food product received at the lodges.
Maintains adequate inventory levels of all products according to business levels. Places food and beverage orders.
Ability to attend work in harsh weather environment.
Responsible for the efficient day to day operations of the lodge/restaurant.
Ability to hold staff accountable to Vail Resorts, Inc. policies, procedures and performance standards.
Job Requirements:
3 years previous food and beverage management experience
Serve Safe Certification (or ability to obtain within first 30 days of hire)
Intermediate or better computer skills; working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook
Excellent communication skills; you will need to coordinate all kinds of people and ensure they are properly trained
