Kirkwood Mountain Resort, known for it's Big Snow, Legendary Terrain, is hiring for a seasonal Terrain Park Manager. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to advance within Terrain Parks but may not have ample opportunity at a larger mountain. Kirkwood is home to 3 progression parks as well as a myriad of natural features. In this role, you would own these parks from original build to season close. Job Summary: The Terrain Park Manager is directly responsible for producing the world class terrain park experience at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. This includes the design, construction, and daily maintenance of 3 progression parks, managing daytime operations, and supervising seasonal Terrain Park staff. Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Safety - guest and employee safety in the terrain parks.
- Financial - develop and manage operation and capital budgets
- Guest Service - exceed expectations for all levels of terrain park users.
- Teamwork - towards coworkers and inter-related departments.
- Training - responsible for department specific training and safety compliance training.
- Efficiency - during the construction and development phase of terrain parks.
- Performance - ensure that all employees are evaluated on their performance and that skill development is emphasized.
- Events – event organization and team execution.
Requirements:
- High School Education
- 1-2 years experience in terrain parks or ski area operations (preferred)
- 3 years experience in managing staff at supervisory level (preferred)
- Current, valid driver's license
- Microsoft Office experience (preferred)
- Slope grooming vehicle operation experience (preferred)
- Forklifts operation and welding and fabrication skills (preferred)
Work Schedule
- This position will work from 09/01/2014 through 05/01/2015 (approximate, depending on season-close). Additionally, if available, this person will be invited to attend a leadership summit in August, 2014.
