The Ski & Ride School Training POD Manager is responsible for the creation, administration, quality, staffing, and delivering of Ski & Ride School trainings as well as daily and seasonal operational supervisor duties. He/she is also responsible for the overall quality of lessons and guest experience delivered at their location. This position works with other Training Managers, Ski & Ride School Managers, and Senior Training Manager to facilitate and assure the quality of centralized training, including required training, certification training, on-going (elective) training, new-hire training, and safety training. Reports directly to the Senior Training Manager, but also has lines of responsibility to Ski & Ride School Managers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, schedule, and administer staff training. Work with other Training Managers and Senior Training Manager to ensure quality and consistency throughout the school.
- Role model excellence in clinic leading, teaching, and contemporary skiing/riding. Remain current with professional organizations.
- Work with Ski & Ride School Managers and Supervisors to ensure the quality of products/services, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and develop training specific to business needs. Accountable for metrics concerning safety, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction.
- Lead trainings and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the training program.
- Perform daily and seasonal operational supervisor duties including - but not limited to - daily work assignments/split process, matching guests and instructors for privates, scheduling, resolving guest issues, instructor appraisals, communication meetings, and managing the business to predetermined goals.
- Monitor quality and performance of instructor staff and work with Managers and Supervisors to design and deliver training to improve instructor performance and guest experience. Coach and counsel individual instructors when appropriate.
- Meet and greet guests daily and role model exceptional guest service. Resolve guest complaints efficiently and effectively and support 100% guest recovery.
- Remain current with industry trends, competitions, and events and teach lessons to the public when necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of three years as a full-time instructor for a recognized ski and snowboard school
- Current PSIA/AASI Level 3 certification (or equivalent)
- Alpine discipline preferred
- Must be able to utilize email, Word, Excel, and other applications as needed
- Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English
- Proven strong clinic leading ability
- Must successfully complete the Fit to Ride fitness assessment program
- Must be available to work holidays and weekends
- PSIA/AASI Examiner or Rocky Mountain Trainer (or equivalent) preferred
- Ski & Ride School Supervisor experience preferred
