Vail Mountain Dining Intermediate Cook, Game Creek - Winter Seasonal - Full Time
Nestled just below Eagle's Nest and just above the Game Creek chair lift, Game Creek Restaurant is a truly unique location where guests can enjoy a gourmet dinner and an exceptional dining experience while overlooking the beautiful Game Creek Bowl. Game Creek Restaurant offers delectable, five-star, distinctive American cuisine complimented by an award-winning wine list and superior service. This breathtaking European chalet-style restaurant is accessible only by snowcat in the winter.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- This is an experienced cook with a strong work ethic and an interest in furthering one’s culinary career.
- Handle own station, work off prep list and complete station set up in time allotted.
- Fabricate items to standard during service and completes prep list for next service period.
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas within the restaurant to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices.
- Apply Vail Mountain Dining standards for speed and quality.
- Practice good personal hygiene, safe food handling and culinary skills.
- Understand and practice HACCP principles.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent - required.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs - required.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours - required.
- Must be fluent in English - required.
- Previous cooking experience - required.
- Must have proficient knife skills - required.
- General understanding of a variety of cooking techniques - required.
- Has own culinary tools or is prepared to purchase them if needed - required.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays including: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, December 26th through January 2nd, Presidents’ Day Weekend, and any other holidays as requested - required.
