The 10th, Vail's critically acclaimed on-mountain fine-dining restaurant is looking for a SHERPA TEAM LEAD to join our outstanding restaurant staff. The 10th serves lunch daily and dinner 5 nights a week. Located at the top of Gondola One at Mid-Vail, The 10th is accessed either by ski-in and ski-out during the day or via Vail’s brand new high tech Gondola One. Modern. Alpine. Inspired. The 10th redefines classic alpine cuisine and elevates service to new standards in Vail. The 10th Sherpa Team works together to assist guests with transporting ski equipment at the end of the day, to check in dinner guests, and to assist with transportation during evening hours from Gondola One to The 10th.will work at either the top or the bottom of Gondola One. The Lead is responsible for organizing schedule changes, ensuring the Team is appropriately tasked through the night and is a point of communication to The 10th management.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for warmly greeting resort guests in all daily activities.
- Will work at either the top or bottom of Gondola One to check in guests or assist guests with transportation
- Will communicate to guests the last time they may ski/ride out of The 10th before Ski Patrol Sweep.
- Assist guests in moving their snowsports equipment from The 10th to the top of Gondola One after Sweep has occurred on the mountain.
- Provide safe transportation via a Polaris-type vehicle for guests to/from Gondola One and The 10th during evening operations.
- Must be able to answer guests’ questions regarding The 10th, specifically the dates and hours of operation, and basic menu questions.
- May act as host/hostess or doorperson as needed.
- Will work mostly outdoors, on snowy surfaces, during evening hours.
Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience - required.
- Must be able to work while unsupervised - required.
- Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment at the base of the gondola, and able to work in possible adverse weather - required.
- Must be fluent in English - required.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs - required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a Polaris vehicle (training will be provided) - required.
- Expect to work Tuesday-Saturday afternoon/evening shifts each week - required.
- High School diploma or equivalent - preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience - preferred.
