Description
Val-Matic Valve and Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to be our Director of Production Planning and Forecasting. The successful candidate will lead our team of planners and purchasing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Director will ensure that our production team has the materials, schedule, and resources necessary to deliver critical infrastructure components to our customers. This position will have direct responsibility for production control, forecasting, and supply chain management and reports directly to our President.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of long-term and short-term manufacturing plans aligned with corporate goals and customer demands.

Forecasting: Drive accurate forecasting processes, utilizing historical data, market trends, and demand analysis to predict future production needs and inventory levels.

Supply Chain Optimization: Oversee the integration of sales forecasts, production schedules, and supply chain requirements to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid production disruptions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment of forecasts and production plans with company objectives.

Inventory Management: Manage and improve inventory control processes to minimize excess stock and reduce inventory carrying costs.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Use advanced analytical tools and software to monitor production performance and create detailed reports for senior leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs), including forecast accuracy, production efficiency, and cost savings.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the planning and forecasting processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planning and forecasting professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.

Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks related to production planning, supply chain disruptions, and market changes, and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field .

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior planning, forecasting, or supply chain management role within a manufacturing environment.

Leadership: Proven experience leading and developing teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in forecasting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), ERP systems, and MS Excel (including advanced formulas, data analysis, and reporting).

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for process improvement and decision-making.

Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on identifying solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.

Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain principles, and best practices.

Certifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge of demand planning and MRP systems.
- Experience with Epicor/Kinetic ERP software.

Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
