Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation Technician on an hourly contract basis to support installation of process instrumentation and control systems. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in electrical wiring, conduit installation, instrumentation, and preferably bring their own standard toolset.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and terminate field devices (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters) and associated junction boxes.
- Install and assemble conduit systems (rigid, EMT, flexible) including bending, cutting, pulling cable and fitting to code.
- Troubleshoot signal integrity, control loop performance, and electrical faults in 4–20 mA, HART, and digital communication loops.
- Interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, conduit layouts, and loop schematics to ensure accurate device hookup.
- 3 years’ hands-on experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation work.
- Proven experience installing and configuring conduit systems per NEC and local electrical codes.
- Proficient with electrical code, NEC, and safe work practices (e.g., lockout/tagout, OSHA).
- Strong understanding of analog/digital signals, local control panels, and DCS/PLC interfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, loop sheets, wiring diagrams, and conduit riser diagrams.
- Must supply own basic instrumentation toolset (e.g., multimeter, hand tools, torque wrench) plus conduit-bending tools.
- Familiarity with portable test equipment and documenting calibration results electronically.
- Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
- Schedule: Flexible hours to meet project demands (day-shift typical; with overtime/standby).
- Duration: 1-2 months. Project-based, with potential for extension based on performance and workload.
