What are the responsibilities and job description for the XCTC Network Technician position at Valbin Corporation?
Valbin Corporation is seeking experienced surge based IT Network Tech’s to support coordination and delivery of Army training programs. The ideal candidate will have been a prior E5 with IT / Network / Cabling background.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the I&C Lead’s guidance, setup the Network Operation Center (NOC). Configuring Linux and Windows computers, Cisco routers and wireless networks, building and running ethernet cable
- Assist in the end-to-end test (monitor tracking stats) prior to the first day of lanes
- Monitor the status of the FlexTrain tracking infrastructure throughout the duration of the exercise
- Participate in Instrumentation Issue to ensure all player units are in the ORION database
- Maintain the ORION database for accuracy
- Assist LOG Ops with RTU/OPFOR location for battery and FREDI swaps
- Debug and fix problems with the network, computer hardware, computer software, and audio/video equipment.
- Assists in the establishment of internet for ESC, I&C, LOG, BFE as required
- Conducts post mission requirements.
- Supports the overall operational delivery of contracts on site during the period of execution as part of the 24-hour I&C team.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs in equipment.
- Reports to the I&C Lead.
Minimum Job Requirements
- US Citizen, 18 years or older
- Valid Real ID Drivers License; Required to access all military bases; Enforcement date: May 7, 2025; Additional information: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id/real-id-faqs
- Prior military personnel with 1 years IT / Network / Cabling background, and/or prior Network Tech in the XCTC program, and/or 1 year commensurate civilian IT / Network / Cabling experience.
- Position requires close customer contact, the ability to work independently and creatively.
- Successful candidates must exhibit the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
