Your day to day as a Test Engineer
As a Full Time, Test Engineer at VAL-CO, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing tests that guarantee the functional performance, durability, and reliability of our innovative VAL-CO systems and products. Your responsibilities will involve close collaboration with product managers, design engineers, and quality assurance teams to validate and optimize product functionality across all categories. You will assess full systems, sub-systems, and critical components, such as drinker nipples, motors, fan systems, and feed and nest systems under various conditions.
This hands-on role includes developing comprehensive test plans, conducting assembly and functional tests, and performing rigorous durability and reliability tests, including wind tunnel assessments. You'll also analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring consistency and compliance with documentation standards. Are you the Test Engineer we're looking for?
To thrive as a Full Time Test Engineer at VAL-CO, you will need a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or a two-year degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology (mechatronics) or Engineering Technology. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles is essential, along with experience in mechanical testing or product validation. Your ability to design and fabricate custom fixtures using standard sheet metal and machine tools will be valuable in this hands-on role. Familiarity with CAD software is preferred, as well as exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for technical reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
You should possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, being capable of lifting 50 lbs and flexibility in working in tight spaces will serve you well, as will a willingness to travel occasionally. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus!

- Knowledge of working in Microsoft Office products.
- Lift 50 lbs., ability to bend down, and work in tight spaces.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 15%).
