Valcor Engineering is one of the largest and most recognized suppliers of fluid control products in the aircraft, aerospace and military fields. We specialize in the design and manufacture of Solenoid Valves and control components for liquids and gases in critical application in the aerospace, nuclear, light industrial and scientific industries.
We are looking for someone with experience in designing, building and operating pneumatic test equipment in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for aircraft pneumatic components and subsystems to include creating, controlling and measuring temperature, pressure and flow in the test equipment and in the end product. The successful candidate will support component, system and drive testing in a variety of capabilities; Production, R&D, Qualification Testing, and is responsible for the functional status, calibration, and readiness of test equipment and instrumentation. This role supports test planning, setup, data collection, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Applies engineering principles to design or modify test stands, equipment, and test processes for specific projects.
Selects the proper equipment and instrumentation including test facilities.
Plans, schedules, and tests complex hydraulic and pneumatic control systems and components.
Plans and manages test safety for both people and product throughout the test program.
Installs, configures, and calibrates instrumentation used for data recording.
Develops quotes, selects outside labs and supervises outside lab testing.
Evaluates engineering test data to determine the feasibility of product proposals and develop product tests.
Analyzes and reviews test data to ensure accurate results and prepares detailed engineering charts and reports.
Documents test setup information for test reports, including conformity/discrepancy records.
Creates comprehensive test procedures and operating procedures for test equipment.
Up to 10% domestic travel
Education, Skills and Requirements
BS degree in engineering. 1-2 years’ experience in test engineering a plus.
Experience with SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software. Outstanding organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience in an engineering test environment including specifying and selecting equipment for engineering projects. Experience conducting development and certification testing of mechanical or electrical hardware a plus.
Experience assembling high pressure gas systems and/or working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 a plus.
Experience with MATLAB or developing data acquisition programs in LabVIEW or Python a plus.
Experience operating typical lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering stations, load cells, etc).
Must be comfortable working with high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems (pressure > 10,000 psig).
Must be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
