What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit and Freight Movement Supervisor position at Valcor?
Serves as the Supervisor for the Unit Moves section consisting of material coordinators that assist and advice on aspects of transportation movement services (unit movements, material movements, rail operations, and air operations), involving all modes of transposition, (rail, motor, air, and water), nationwide and overseas. Performs staff assistance pertaining to transportation movement, missions, and functions for assigned areas. Assignments are varied and pertain to policies, systems, operations, and functions of transportation.
Operates and supervises the installation Freight office. Responsible for developing schedules, assigning work assignments and coordinating with the Logistics Readiness Center's Transportation team including Rail, Air, and Freight to ensure all wok requirements are accomplished on time and to standard. Coordinates with the TMP Manager to ensure transportation is available to travel to KAEX to support loading and unloading of aircraft.
Works closely with the LRC Rail team to provide assist with rail operation briefings and ensure team is available to assist Soldiers with the loading and unloading of railcars. Manages tools and ensure they are signed over to the Soldiers prior to rail operations and collects them back up at the end of each day.
