Job Summary:

The Construction Estimator position for Valcourt Building Services assists in the collection and analysis of data according to the Project documents to develop accurate cost models for determining the estimated construction costs for performing the repairs, restoration and waterproofing of the exterior façade of buildings and structures. The position will answer to the Senior Estimator and work within the estimating department to research pricing, subcontractors, and fabricators to provide input into the project estimates. The Construction Estimators will also attend pre-bid meetings and make site visits as necessary to obtain information needed to fully develop the cost estimate.

Responsibilities:

• Review project documents to determine project Scope of Work
• Work with Business Development Managers to develop accurate cost models for bidding purposes
• Develop a list of specified materials and acquire pricing from multiple distributors and manufacturers
• Build submittal files for projects based on specified materials
• Development list of items to be used to produce purchase orders
• Research subcontractors and solicit pricing on specific scope of work
• Solicit pricing from fabricators for items in the scope of work
• Perform take-offs on Valcourt projects including building facades, garages, commercial buildings, and condominiums
• Use Project Documents to build estimate shells and fill in Bid Form
• Perform estimates for small work orders/ Change orders
• Perform time and motion studies to improve production rates used by the estimating department to improve the estimating models

​Qualifications:

• 2-5 Years Previous experience estimating or purchasing within the construction industry
• 2 or 4 year degree in construction related area of study is a plus
• Experience in construction, or a thorough understanding of construction processes
• Understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience with Sage/Timberline estimating or similar program
• Ability to understand and build spreadsheets
• Comfortable with presentations to small groups
• Communicate clearly – Bilingual is a plus

Requirements:

• This job will require travel that may include overnight stays
• The job will include visiting construction sites and exposure to loud sounds and dust
• The job may include working at heights, riding a suspended scaffold, Climbing scaffold, or getting on the roof top of multistory buildings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
