Job Summary:
As a Siding and Framing Installer/Carpenter, you will be responsible for installing exterior siding and building the structural framework of residential and commercial buildings, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and within project timelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- N/A
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Rough framing and building wooden structures, including walls, roofs and flooring
- Doing joinery work that includes installing joists and studs, installing flashing and securing structural supports
- Vinyl and composite siding installation
- Weather Resident Barrier and/or house wrap installation
- Working from various equipment types such as lifts, scaffolds and ladders
- Choosing the appropriate wood materials for projects, choosing high-quality materials and matching clients’ budgets
- Working with general contractors, clients and suppliers to complete projects within time and resource constraints
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Training and experience with power and hand tools, such as saws, drills, chisels, fasteners and sanders
- Knowledge of wood species, including manufactured wood products such as plywood and pressure-treated lumber
- Joinery skills and knowledge of fasteners, including nails, wood glue and various dry joints
- Creativity and the ability to make and follow design plans
- Ability to follow health and safety codes
Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in waterproofing, Construction, Framing or related field
Physical Requirements:
- Required to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
- May occasionally come in contact with unpleasant or hazardous materials.
- May occasionally require safety procedures when working at height.
