Principal Process Engineer

Chemical Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced Chemical Engineer to provide input to business development and upfront project execution efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of process technologies and standard refining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consultation on process issues and designs
• Identify alternate process technologies and develop conceptual process designs
• Conduct inter-discipline reviews and collect process data to inform design decisions
• Develop complex process simulations and relief device scenarios
• Develop and evaluate process control strategies
• Manage process projects of varying complexity and write process department ECN's
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and develop material balances

Technical Competencies:

• Understanding and ability to apply basic fundamentals in Chemical Engineering, including fluid dynamics, chemistry, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, process unit operations and separations
• Ability to understand PFD and P&ID symbology, layout, standards and workflow
• Knowledgeable of physical property estimation packages and able to develop process simulations
• Able to read, understand, and utilize piping isometrics and plot plans for hydraulic calculations
• Demonstrate the ability to perform and document process calculations that can be easily checked

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
• 15 years of experience in the chemical and refining process industries
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills

Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: $130,000 - $200,000 per year
