The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation authority is accepting applications for Seasonal Tournaments Grounds Crew positions. These positions are responsible for performing essential grounds maintenance for weekend tournaments of the Valdosta Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority. Work involves ensuring that the general aesthetics of facilities and grounds are attractive and inviting to all guests at parks and facilities.
Hours of Operation:
This position operates during various hours Monday-Friday and Weekends. Shifts vary between morning, day, and late evenings.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be 16 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid State Driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
- Be able to operate a zero-turn mower as well as other lawncare equipment
- A successful applicant will display a positive attitude and professional manner
- Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority is a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug screen, criminal history background investigation, and a Motor Vehicle Report will be conducted.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to complete various tasks during shift assigned by crew leader
- Pick up trash and debris prior to mowing designated area
- Mow, trim, and rake leaves/pine needles as assigned\ Empty trash bins and replace with clean trash bags
- Frequent weekend work required for Special events and Sports Tournaments
