Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly.
Position Summary:
Ensure that the production process is carried out in a safe manner according to the goals set by the company and maximize throughput.
Responsibilities
- Operate machine to enhance surface of parts.
- Determine usage of different machines according to customer requirements
- Anticipate and overcome production related problems, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and unavoidable delays where possible and plan to reduce their impact on the operation
- Perform daily tests to determine size and shape of media
- Run test specimens and provide to customer as required
- Coordinate company projects and programs designed to support different initiatives
- Communicate with customer service on recovery dates and expected completion dates for processing
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and submit maintenance requests for further maintenance work
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience a plus, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
