What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Tooling Engineer position at Valence?
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures used in plating processes, considering factors such as material compatibility and process requirements. Example: masking, sanding, paint, demask, etc.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to understand plating project requirements and develop tooling solutions to meet those needs.
- Review current process techniques on long standing products and identify and implement improvements to aids, tooling, and templates to make process more repeatable and consistent.
- Reviewing customer specifications for new products for detailed requirements to set up new processes or establish gaps between current practices and specification requirements.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for tooling designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of tooling and fixtures, working with external vendors or in-house teams to ensure timely delivery and quality.
- Support the maintenance team in the maintenance and repair of existing tooling and fixtures to ensure their continued effectiveness.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other project team members to ensure continuous success in meeting required deadlines and product goals.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to conduct inspections and ensure that tooling meets required specifications and quality standards.
- Perform document control of customer’s engineering.
- Other duties as assigned.
