JOB SUMMARY
Providing warm and sincere customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction is met, delivering the best guest experience. Primarily assisting with parking and/or retrieving guest vehicles, providing directions, luggage assistance, and information about the hotel and San Antonio area.
Shift requirements:
• Looking for flexibility with morning or evening shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
- Contribute positively to the team within the department
- Prepare for all guest requests
- Participating in on-going training
- Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards as required by scheduling which will vary dependent upon the hotel’s needs
- Being able to check arriving guests into the Oobeo valet application
- Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Greeting and engaging with guests whenever possible to ensure quality of service is upheld and recover their confidence in the hotel.
- Resolve any guest and/or associate issues incurred during the shift in a professional and thorough manner, communicating effectively as appropriate.
- Unload baggage from vehicles and or taxis
- Open entrance doors for all guests
- Answer questions and offer information and assistance
- Ensure charges and posting are processed to secure revenue prior to a guest’s departure
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
- Return customer vehicles upon request in a timely fashion
- Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor and willingness to help
- Observe safety precautions always
- Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms and or partial escorts.
- Assist with transportation and handling of luggage.
- Offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, directions, and dining options.
- Explain hotel amenities and features of rooms, such as radio operations, television, climate control, and how to place telephone calls.
- Inspect the guest’s rooms to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate upon guest escort.
- Deliver packages, luggage, and other guest belongings.
- Serve as alternate or additional valet, bellman, or doorman when required.
- Complete errands as requested by Valencia Services and other Hotel Valencia departments.
- To stay later than the scheduled shift if needed to assist parking cars and accommodating the guests
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking: constantly walking and running for varying length of time with little or no sitting
- Lifting/Carrying: packages and guests luggage weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling bell carts weigh up to 100 lbs.
Working Environment
Exterior of hotel and occasional interior with exposure to weather conditions
BASICS
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
- Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Hotel Operations or Customer Service experience preferred
- Communicate effectively with others
- Works productively with a team
- Effective multitasking skills
- Composure and patience under pressure
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Prefer hotel experience and background.
- TABC Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
