About the Role
As a Host/Hostess at Valentino Ristorante Italiano, you will be responsible for setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. You will greet guests with warmth, manage reservations efficiently, and coordinate seating to ensure a seamless and elegant flow of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with grace, warmth, and professionalism, ensuring a memorable first impression.
- Manage reservations and walk-ins using a POS or reservation system (such as OpenTable).
- Coordinate efficient seating arrangements, balancing guest comfort and restaurant flow.
- Communicate seamlessly with servers, bartenders, and managers to ensure exceptional service.
- Provide guests with information about the menu, specials, and dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and special accommodations with poise and efficiency.
- Maintain a polished and organized host stand and reception area.
- Assist with event coordination and VIP guest experiences when needed.
- Uphold fine dining etiquette, including proper greeting, seating, and farewell protocols.
- Support floor operations, helping to manage the restaurant flow during peak hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Host/Hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is REQUIRED.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a warm, engaging presence.
- Ability to manage reservations, guest lists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
- Familiarity with reservation platforms (OpenTable or similar) is preferred.
- Professional appearance and excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure in a high-volume setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and fine dining service standards is a plus.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and a team player.
