Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mid-Level Project Finance Associate to join our dynamic team with a focus on renewable energy transactions. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy transactional work and be comfortable managing complex project finance matters. Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex renewable energy project finance transactions, including wind, solar, and other renewable energy projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate project finance documents, including loan agreements, project development agreements, and energy contracts.
- Manage and assist with the financing and structuring of energy projects, including project bonds, tax equity, and debt financing.
- Advise clients on regulatory and legal matters affecting renewable energy projects, including federal and state incentives, tax credits, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with senior associates, partners, and clients to develop innovative solutions for financing renewable energy projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including technical advisors, consultants, and external parties, to structure deals and resolve issues.
- Conduct due diligence, prepare legal opinions, and assist with the preparation and filing of project-related documentation.
- Stay updated on developments in renewable energy laws, regulations, and market trends to provide strategic advice to clients.
- Maintain and foster relationships with clients, investors, and other stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Masters degree
- 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, including experience in transactional work related to wind, solar, or other renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of project finance structures, including debt and equity financing, tax equity, and joint ventures.
- Experience with government incentives, tax credits (e.g., ITC, PTC), and renewable energy regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
