Description
Provides support for the ongoing compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Ensures that all control, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements related to areas of responsibility are satisfied.
- Interacts and works with the site Operations organization. Develops and maintains good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills that help Operations and other functional groups implement environmental and safety programs achieving operational flexibility while ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems to sustainably demonstrate compliance with assigned environmental permits / regulations / programs.
- Monitors and analyzes environmental operational data to ensure compliance which includes auditing and sampling. Uses information to identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Coordinates and manages engineering and compliance testing of control equipment, including preparing tests protocols and work plans.
- Manages / Supports capital projects as they relate to HSE.
- Assists site personnel with the implementation and ongoing compliance of site and corporate safety policies.
- Maintains and oversees updates as need to site plans such as Emergency Action Plan (ERAP), Facility Response Plan (FRP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) and Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Develops and delivers training to the site for safety issues. Develops training materials pertaining to safety issues as required by the site. Provides the training materials to the parties responsible for delivering site training or may deliver the training directly to the site employees.
- Supports Turnaround planning and execution.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Valero's Bloomingburg ethanol plant is located near Bloomingburg, Ohio, about 40 miles southwest of Columbus. The bio-refinery sits on approximately 65 acres and started ethanol production in March 2008. The facility uses a dry-grind production method and state-of-the-art technology to maintain industry-leading standards in production, safety, product quality and environmental stewardship. The Bloomingburg plant annually processes approximately 46 million bushels of corn into approximately 130 million gallons of denatured ethanol and 385,000 tons of distillers grains co-products.
