Description
Maintains and troubleshoots the Honeywell DCS system. Provides support for plant operations by working with control board operators and instrument maintenance. Stewards alarm management program to support safe and effective plant operations. Develops and maintains accurate and clear documentation on control schemes and programs.
Job Duties :
- Troubleshoot and maintain DCS (Honeywell TDC 3000 & Experion) including control schemes, graphics, and tags.
- Provide daily control systems support to assigned operating units.
- Interface with operations and process engineering groups.
- Develop and implement process control schemes and control techniques.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve controller performance issues including PID loop tuning.
- Perform alarm reviews with operations to support corporate alarm rationalization program.
- Support project engineers with project funding, execution, and control scheme development.
- Maintain and support advanced process control program and communicate performance to process engineering and operations.
- Develop and maintain control related documentation.
- Work with instrumentation maintenance personnel to troubleshoot plant issues.
- Effectively presents information and respond to questions from operations, maintenance personnel, and management.
- Solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization of solutions exists.
- Actively participates in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Support occasional weekend callout and turnaround coverage.
Competencies :
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
The salary range for this position is $126,800 to $174,500 and represents Valero's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications and experience.
