- Processes “In House” On-cycle Payrolls; reviews payroll(s) to ensure accuracy according to company policy.
- Processes Off-Cycle Bonus Payments.
- Researches and clears claims created by overpayments
- Ensures reports are verified for accuracy by Payroll staff during payroll processing
- Performs quarterly internal audits for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Participates in payroll-related internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Balances, corrects, and coordinates printing of W2's for the corporation.
- Ensures computation of pay according to company policy, government regulations and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and respond to payroll-related questions.
- Establishes and manage a comprehensive process for timely and accurate payroll submission, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting.
- Identifies inefficiencies in payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and streamline workflows.
- Assists in the implementation of automated payroll processes, reducing manual tasks and minimizing errors.
- Analyzes payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improving payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Creates and generates regular and ad-hoc reports from the HR system to support payroll analysis, compliance reporting, and management requests.
- Works with HR, finance, and other departments to provide payroll data and insights for various organizational needs, including budgeting and financial planning.
- Collaborates with IS and other HR teams to test and implement payroll system upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Ensures the Payroll / HR system (SAP) is functioning optimally and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Eight years of experience in the following area(s): Experience working with multiple payroll cycles running simultaneously in a multi-state corporation required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
- Bachelor’s or higher level degree preferred.
- SAP payroll system experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
