What are the responsibilities and job description for the Terminal Operator II position at Valero?
Description
Performs duties as outlined by the Terminal Manger related to the receipt and shipment of petroleum products via pipeline, dock, and truck to include but not limited to:
- Inspects terminal and pipeline equipment to insure integrity
- Monitors volumes, makes product switches, and ensures maximum and minimum volumes are not exceeded
- Reviews valve line-ups with operations counterparts; starting and stopping pumps
- Makes grade switches, monitors for interfaces, and makes valve lineup changes
- Ensures proper measurement techniques are being followed
- Sampling products, or acting as a witness when outside parties perform sampling
- Processes tickets and makes adjustments and corrections (within delegation of authority limits) as necessary
- Reads meters, collects samples and performs various lab tests as necessary
- Coordinates sampling times with customers
- Monitors gate activity, and facility security
- Initiates emergency call outs, and acting as the first responder /QI until assistance arrives
- Assists maintenance and operations with various duties
- Assists in training employees
- Ensures company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained
- Adherence to Valero’s HSE policies must be applied at all times
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two years experience in terminal operations required
