What are the responsibilities and job description for the Valet Parking Attendant (FT or PT Mon-Fri Days) position at Valet Park of America?
VPA is excited to expand our services to the Virginia area. Based in Springfield, MA we are a family-owned business, founded in 1990, and employ nearly 1000 great employees in New England, New York, and Florida in various roles. We are looking for a great crew to join our team for this new location, providing services at a government facility.
Please note that these positions will require a National Security Clearance background check. Maintaining this clearance through the duration of your employment will be required.
Pay: Earn over $23/hr to start (between base rate and fringe pay), working as a stack-parking attendant, helping staff with their vehicles each day. Staff will be required to direct customers into available parking. As lots fill up, our team will assist with double-parking and moving cars around to maximize available parking.
Our current needs are day shifts 7 am - 2 pm. Perfect position for students looking to work FT in the summer and PT around classes in the Fall semester.

Minimum Requirements: – All Valet Attendants are required to:
- Be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle to the satisfaction of management (training is available in some situations).
- Have experience working in customer service
- Be over the age of 18 (due to laws about operating heavy machinery)
- License(s) required – The general Valet Attendant position requires a valid Class D license to operate a motor vehicle. This license must have been held for at least one year prior to applying.
- A driving record will be required at the time of application, and it must be approved for the applicant to be considered for a position. The Class D license must be kept in good standing for the duration of employment.
Physical Demands
- Standing for the duration of your shift
- Jogging to retrieve cars
- Entering and exiting customers' vehicles
- Communicate effectively in English with customers and coworkers
Work environment – Outdoors for the duration of the shift. Inclement weather (hot, cold, precipitation, etc) will have a significant impact on the employee's work environment. Shifts will not be canceled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts, and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions.

- All employees must undergo a criminal records check, and for this role, a National Security Clearance check.
- Must have a neat appearance and good attitude
- All employees are hired on a 30-day trial period. If during that time the employee does not perform their duties to the satisfaction of management, they can be terminated without cause
