Onsite Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing and performing the daily responsibilities related to the physical construction of new and repair / renovation projects in a healthcare environment, and to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan. Work in an operating healthcare facility may require off-hour work in order to maintain operations within the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
- The ability to perform remedial tasks using basic computer software like, scheduling, update reports, and email.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to properly direct subcontractors to execution of work.
- Assist with project design plan review to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades, and crafts.
- Assist in developing the overall CPM schedule with the project management team prior to construction.
- Manage the schedule throughout the project to include the creation and maintenance of 2 to 4-week look-ahead schedules.
- Develop and maintain the site logistics plans for projects assigned.
- Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
- Chair and document regular progress meetings with the client / owner and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents.
- Maintain client / owner relations through communication both face-to-face and digital.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each phase of work.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
- Direct field operations to operate according to the "plan" and in an efficient manner.
- Conduct foreman's meetings.
- Follow up on RFI's, submittals, as-builts and changes.
- Overall responsibility for Valiant's Quality Control Management Program and Safety Management Program for individually assigned Task Orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
