Job Summary:
Valiant Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful analysis to support the companies and clients financial health. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as work independently. This role will also include being a back up for payroll if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and, providing variance analysis and insights.
- Compliance and Tax Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings (e.g., sales tax, payroll tax).
- Internal Controls: Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes and implement improvements.
- Ad-hoc Reporting: Provide financial analysis and reports as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required).
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, TaxDome, Gusto) and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and performing reconciliations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in accounting.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
