The Accounting Manager also serves as the main point of contact for third-party clients and as the intermediary between the operations and accounting departments. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for weekly payable processing and initiating all necessary bank wires/ACHs.

What You’ll Be Doing
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the staff of Financial Accountants. The Accounting Manager oversees the work of the Financial Accountants as well as ensures the completion of departmental goals by completing necessary projects, ensuring successful onboarding of new third-party clients, and hiring/training Financial Accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a team of Financial Accountants.
- Ensure monthly financial closing deadlines are met and review financial reports for accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for third-party clients.
- Collaborate with the Operations team on projects and issue resolution.
- Monitor revenue and expense activity for assigned properties, making necessary adjustments.
- Process weekly property payables, including checks and EFT payments.
- Initiate bank wires and ACH transactions as clients request.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning.
- Lead the onboarding and offboarding of new properties and clients.
- Oversee property tax filings and insurance payments.
- Coordinate year-end financial reporting for tax compliance.
- Manage audit requests and provide necessary financial documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Support additional projects as needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
- Strong ability to analyze financial statements with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional business environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate successfully in a group setting
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Minimum of 5–6 years of experience in property management and accounting.
- Multifamily or Commercial property accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi or equivalent.

- Keying/typing, sitting, standing, and walking as part of daily work responsibilities.
- It requires constant mental and/or visual attention. The work involves both repetitive and varied tasks, requiring sustained focus in an office environment.
- The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during typical job performance.
