Role Overview:
As a Safety Officer you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety across site operations. Your role will involve conducting safety inspections, enforcing compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 510 regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions..
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and implement solutions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a safety technician or related role.
- Must have OSHA 510 Certification
- Knowledge of electrical safety in the workplace is critical, and NFPA 70E certification ensures understanding of electrical hazards.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of the specific hazards associated with battery production, such as handling of electrolytes, lithium, and other materials is helpful
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, or other relevant safety certifications is a plus.
- Knowledge of fire risks associated with battery production and storage, and experience with fire prevention and suppression systems.
- Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE)
