Lab technician
Mountain View, CA Onsite
Ability to convert minimal design documentation and verbal requests into a fabricated good using common lab tools, such as soldering iron, wire strippers, heat gun, saw, drill, dremel, adhesive, fasteners for lab customers
- * Ability to document fabrication and assembly of finished goods, including photography and written work instructions to support future industrialization of the fabricated good Electrical and mechanical hardware repair Ability to support lab requests that require mechanical disassembly and reassembly Ability to effectively communicate with engineering and service personnel to understand scope of work and critical features High attention to detail to ensure high quality repair and prototyped goods Communication and workload management Ability to effectively communicate status, lead times, and prioritize workload Lab layout and organization Ability to facilitate discussion and support layout proposals to meet changing lab needs Ability to organize and execute layout change to implement proposals Ability to organize and optimize storage for materials, equipment, and finished goods to maintain lab order
Experience or Desired Items:
- Passion or interest in aviation
- RC construction experience
- Familiarity with:
- Servos
- Motors
- Wiring
- Foam (EPP, EPO)
- Familiarity with the following types of equipment:
- 3D printing (SLS, SLA, and FDM)
- Laser Cutter
- CNC Hot Wire Cutter
- Lathe
- Mill
- Bandsaw
Understanding of 5S workplace organization method Experience working in production environment Experience identifying facility needs and proposing solutions for prototyping and manufacturing.
