Job Description
The Birth to Five (Bto5) Counselor provides counseling services and coordination of integrated care for children ages birth to five years old and their families and may carry a caseload of up to 35 children. This is a hands-on role, serving as an advocate and collaborator to ensure the developmental, academic, and social/emotional needs of the children are addressed. The Bto5 counselor works with the child and their families to create individualized service plans, implement agreed-upon interventions, and monitor progress toward goal completion, promotes child/family independence and assists with transition planning, works with the child and family team to prevent and/or appropriately respond to crises and to minimize out-of-home placement, works closely with the Department of Child Safety and will include the completion of a protracted assessment to inform goals and treatment planning for the child and caregivers involved, understands the value and challenges in navigating the systems of care available to our community, specifically as it relates to Birth to Five supportive services, completes multiple screeners and assessments to ensure the comprehensive needs of the child are being met. The Bto5 counselor will receive specific training as it pertains to the birth to five demographics, including the utilization of developmental screeners, parent-child observational assessments, and evidence-based intervention models to ensure that the services provided are best practice for the child.
Services may be provided in the office, in the home, in the school, or in the community, as well as virtually.
Salary: Master Level Associate License $72,000 / Master Level Independent License $85,000

Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Master's degree in a counseling related field is required (professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work).
- Must have active AZBBHE Associate Level License or higher (LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMFT.
- Must have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and to meet the unique needs of client populations served by the agency, including children, and meet requirements for a BHP.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and must be able to execute conflict resolution.
- Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of Windows or Windows 365 environment and/or Electronic Health Records Systems.
- Ability to provide culturally sensitive services
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Must maintain current BLS certification
- Covid 19 Vaccination or Qualified Exemption (Religious or Medical).
- TB Screening Record and PPD/QuantiFERON/Chest x-ray as applicable upon hire
- Vaccinations/Titer’s Test/Declination Form: Flu, Hep B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, COVID-19 Vaccination or Qualified Exemption (Religious or Medical).
- Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
