Student Nutrition Services Assistant I
Title: Student Nutrition Services Assistant I Reports To: Director of Student Nutrition Services
Department: Student Nutrition Services Work Year: 180 Days per year

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, performs the general duties in a kitchen, involving the preparation, packaging and serving of food, and cleaning of utensils, dishes and equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Assist in the preparation of food items. E[1]
- Package food on an assembly line. E
- Heat meals in commercial warming equipment. E
- Operate kitchen equipment. E
- Clean tables or counters and assist in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of kitchen. E
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and other kitchen equipment. E
- Serve meals at school sites. E
- Perform cashiering duties manually or utilizing computerized cash register system. E
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in quantity food preparation or service is desirable
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Basic methods of quantity food preparation.
- Proper serving and storage of food
ABILITY TO:
- Perform tasks as defined above.
