Title: TK-12 Teacher Leader Reports To: School Site Principal

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the School Site Principal, provide teachers with skills, knowledge, and the necessary support to implement English Language Arts/Math Programs TK-12.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT:
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate grade level or department team meetings. £1
- Provide direct coaching support to classroom teachers on implementation of the core instruction, supplemental and intervention programs for all students. E
- Provide Professional Learning, guidance, and support to teachers and paraprofessionals in English Language Arts and Math. E .
- Act as a resource to teachers by providing additional research - based strategies and materials for use in the classroom with students. E
- Collaborate with other support teachers to facilitate implementation of all core and intervention programs. E
- Participate in walkthroughs and coordinate sharing of feedback. E
- Support and ensure full implementation of the district's state adopted TK-12 core reading/language arts program, TK-12 Alternate Spanish format, or the intensive intervention programs. E
- Be involved in, and knowledgeable of, the instructional delivery of the adopted program and appropriate modifications for specific special education instructional settings. E
- Participate in the site leadership team and district leadership team to review data and develop actions to improve instructional practices at the site and district level.
- At secondary, assist the multidisciplinary team to analyze the progress monitoring data to address the individual English/Language Arts needs of students with disabilities. E
- Perform related duties as assigned. E
ASSESSMENT SUPPORT:
- Provide training and guidance to teachers in administering appropriate assessments. E
- Assist teachers in analyzing and using assessment data
INTERVENTION SUPPORT:
- Coordinate delivery of intervention programs. E
- Provide direct services to students as appropriate during intervention times. E
DIRECT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Attend professional development meetings for Teacher Leaders, whole group and cohort. E
- Share information with site staff. E
COMPLIANCE TASKS (.5 FTE/SCHOOL SITE):
- Update and monitor implementation of the School Level Plan.
- Coordinate the ordering and delivery of categorically funded materials to teachers.
- Coordinate School Site Council Meetings.
- California Mathematics Framework.
- The Lesson Study Process.
- Classroom observation techniques, particularly in the observation of mathematics lessons.
- Peer coaching and collaboration strategies.
- Basic understanding of assessment strategies.
- Correct grammar and punctuation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with the effective use of technology in the classroom.
- Establish and maintain good human relationships.
- Develop, organize and manage work, programs and activities.
- Speak, read and write Standard English.
- Record-keeping and report-writing techniques.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Experience in teaching reading.
- Experience working with students who exhibit learning disabilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Valid Clear California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential or Education Specialist Instruction Credential (M/M, M/S, DHH, VI, PHI, ECSE).
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Reading Specialist Certification, if applicable.
- Resource Specialist Certificate, if applicable.
- Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential, if applicable.
