What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant position at Valley Animal Hospital LLC?
We are looking to add another Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to our team at Valley Animal Hospital!
Shifts will be Monday-Friday, no weekends!
We are a by appointment only primary care veterinarian, we do not accept walk ins or emergencies.
Physical obligations include being able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance, endure standing and walking on hard floors for extended periods of time, & being able to work in noisy conditions with sounds from animals & equipment.
The primary responsibilities of this role:
- Assisting the veterinarian with daily routine exam & sick appointments (requires excellent animal restraint & documentation skills)
- Assisting with prepping patients for anesthesia & surgery
- Monitoring patient's anesthesia & vitals during a procedure
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining surgical equipment
- Handling & processing laboratory samples
- Administrating medications & injections
- Collecting bodily fluids (including venipuncture)
- Caring for hospitalized patients
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital
- Reception & computer responsibilities using AVImark veterinary software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
