Valley Central Bank seeks a Mortgage Consultant/Mortgage Loan Officer. The Mortgage Consultant/Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for meeting with residential mortgage customers to evaluate their financial situation, guiding them through the mortgage application process, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies. This role involves proactive business development, collaboration with loan processors and underwriters, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth transactions. This is a hybrid role, which can be based at either our Reading or Liberty Township location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Meets with residential mortgage customers to evaluate their financial situation in an effort to successfully obtain mortgages

2. Guides customers through residential mortgage application process to identify most suitable loan product/structure to meet the customer’s needs

3. Ensures that the application process complies with state, federal, and organizational policies

4. Proactively engages in business development activities to meet established goals for new loans to be sold on secondary market and those to be held in the Bank’s portfolio

5. Works cohesively with loan processes and underwriters, collecting all documentation and information that they need to process applications

6. Maintains relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, CPAs, and other potential referral sources

7. Builds and maintains relationships with clients and lenders to ensure smooth transactions

8. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Some College/Associate Degree

Experience

  • Required: 1-2 years of mortgage operations experience
  • Required: 1-3 years of mortgage lending sales experience

License/Certification

  • Required: Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) License

  • Ability to work independently.

professional manner.

  • Customer Service: Provide timely and accurate responses to customer

questions.

  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in using data to drive decision-making.
  • In-depth understanding of secondary market and various investors.
  • Multitasking: Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of

information.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of banking regulations, mortgage regulations,

and compliance requirements.

  • Relationship Building: Develop new connections, as well as nurture and expand

existing customer and partner relationships.

  • Sales Skills: The ability to identify customer needs and offer appropriate bank products

and services.

  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with a group of colleagues, including loan processors

and underwriters, to achieve a goal.

  • Time Management: Manage one's own time effectively.

Technology

  • General computer skills and proficiency to learn various applications, including mortgage

software systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
