Pediatric Infection Preventionist Role
We are seeking a skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team at Valley Children's Hospital. As a member of our pediatric care team, you will be responsible for performing diverse functions using epidemiologic principles associated with the prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) surveillance, analysis, and interpretation and reporting of health care associated infections.
About the Position:
- This role is responsible for detecting and managing clusters of healthcare-associated events
- The specialist will implement prevention measures to reduce the risk of HAI
- Ongoing education and training will be provided to both clinical and non-clinical staff, patients and families about infection prevention
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's highly desirable
- Current California Registered Nurse, Clinical Lab Scientist license, or a combination of a Master's in Public Health and extensive Infection prevention experience
- Minimum 3 years related experience required
- Prior experience in hospital infection prevention is highly desirable
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 24 months of hire or transfer into position
