Purpose Statement
Valley Christian High School is seeking a Dean of Students for the 2025-2026 school year. The Dean of Students serves as a key leader in fostering a Christ-centered, nurturing, and positive educational environment at Valley Christian High School. The role requires a strong commitment to Christian values, leadership, and a dedication to the holistic development of students. The Dean of Students collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and parents to ensure an environment conducive to spiritual growth, academic excellence, and personal integrity. This position will include teaching part-time in the candidate’s subject area of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and empathy.
- Collaborate with counselors to address the emotional, spiritual, and academic needs of students.
- Support faculty and staff in managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, and staff to address concerns and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and enforce policies related to student behavior, attendance, and facility use in alignment with the school’s mission.
- Oversee student conduct, implementing disciplinary measures consistent with biblical principles.
- Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions, student achievements, and other relevant data.
- Serve as a part-time classroom teacher including developing lesson plans and teaching
- Partner with the principal and other administrators to support the overall mission and strategic goals of the school.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive school culture that reflects Christian values.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ as evidenced by a personal and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated by a commitment to living out biblical principles and modeling Christ-like behavior.
- Empathy: capacity to work with a diverse student population and engage a wide range of student experiences with grace.
- Collaborative: be a team builder who works well with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Support Student Activities director regarding student-events
- Be a member of the team that supervises extra-curricular activities, events and competitions.

- Salary Range: $68,640 - $97,474 annually based on education and experience

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, administration, or youth ministry, preferably within a Christian school setting.
- A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, education, and behavior management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church is required.
