What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS?
The Development Coordinator is vital to the functions of the Development office by coordinating projects the Development office produces or is appropriate. The Development Coordinator is a self-starter, possessing a diverse skill set and demonstrates the ability to be resilient and adapt to an ever-changing and growing department.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates aspects of Valley Christian School’s “Sponsorship” program (events, digital ads, banners, etc.)
- Communicates and creates digital and print marketing and promotional materials as needed, including social media
- Coordinates capital projects outside of capital campaign including vendors, timelines, budget, and other related tasks
- Manages volunteer community background clearances with volunteers
- Processes donations and follows up as appropriate
- Assists with database management, pledge invoicing,
- Coordinates alumni relations
- Assists Manager and CAO with all administrative and event tasks and preparation
- Maintains strict confidentiality for all areas of the Development office and school
- Adheres to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, Statement of Faith, Valley Way and other school codes
- Performs other related assigned duties at the direction of the Development Manager and CAO
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony among others

- Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school’s Mission & Beliefs.
- Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license
- Ability to work independently, but also thrives when working as a team
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to multi-task with organization
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with outside vendors and businesses
- Must be able and willing to manage VCS email and phone calls on personal device
Education and Experience:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or 2 years of related experience in administrative or project management
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in creating digital and print media (videos, posters, mailers, or experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, PhotoShop, Microsoft Publisher)
Physical Requirements:
- Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods of time
- Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the time
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs (2-story)
- Use of hands, fingers, and arms to reach, grip, and maneuver objects
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
- Work in a noisy and crowded school environment
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when needed
- Frequent walking throughout the campus
- Must be able to travel in state and between campuses, to vendors, and related events
