Job Summary:
The Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works with other dedicated professionals in a dynamic and exciting multidisciplinary team setting. Our team-based model of care centers on holistic person- and family-centered care that addresses all aspects of recovery. We incorporate evidence-based practices into our services including DBT, EMDR, CBT for Psychosis, and WRAP, among others, to assist our clients on their journeys through recovery. Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners conduct psychiatric evaluations, provide ongoing medication treatment, and collaborate with other team members to provide high quality, team-based care.
What Sets This Position Apart:
- Regular schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Protected administrative time built into your schedule for documentation and care coordination
- Structured appointment times: 90-minute initial evaluations and 30-minute follow-ups
- No on-call responsibilities
- Opportunity for modified scheduling after 6-month probationary period when meeting productivity goals
- Productivity expectation: 60% billable time (24 hours per week) for full time providers
- Experience working with children preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides diagnostic assessment of clients, communicates findings to other appropriate clinical staff.
- Provides psychiatric medication management to clients.
- Communicate with personnel outside of VC as necessary to improve quality of care and provide coordination of care.
- Coordinates care with, and provides clinical consultation to, non-medical clinical staff as clinically indicated.
- Maintains knowledge of major clinical trends and research developments in the field of psychiatry.
- Other related duties as assigned by Director of Outpatient Medical Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Clinical Nurse Practitioner Licensed to practice under state WAC and RCW.
- Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Thorough knowledge of general psychiatry.
- Ability to represent the program both formally and informally to various publics in the community.
