Valley Community Services Board is seeking a dynamic individual to provide peer support services to adults in the Assertive Community Treatment program (ACT). The peer support specialist serves as a primary provider of assertive community treatment to seriously mentally ill (SMI) and dually diagnosed individuals. The incumbent will bring lived experience, insight and guidance related to their own experience in recovery from mental illness, sharing their own personal recovery journey with clients and empowering clients to engage and succeed in treatment.

Essential Functions:
- Willing to openly identify as a peer in recovery and use personal experiences along with sound judgement, effective communication, and time management skills to deliver services.

works closely with other staff using a team approach to enhance psychiatric stability, quality of life, access to available resources and appropriate use of medical services and inpatient care.

Provides direct Peer Recovery services to individuals participating in Assertive Community Treatment.

Meets requirements for documentation of consumer service delivery and maintains records in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Provides emergency/crisis intervention and coordinates for hospital prescreening.
- Assists in the provisions of medical services, such as delivering and monitoring medications.
- Provides case and program consultation to individuals, organizations, agencies, groups, etc. that are involved with VCSB.
Salary : $17 - $2,500
