Description
As a member of the Clinical Care team, the Senior Therapist is responsible for training, clinical supervision, and mentoring the clinical staff providing services at the Valley Treatment Center, namely Crisis Stabilization, and SUD waiver Residential treatment services. This includes but is not limited to assisting the Director Residential Services to select, train, and monitor the clinical services provided by the assigned staff of these program, provide professional licensure and addiction certification supervision as appropriate, and ensure that the services rendered meet agency and funding standards. This involves the application of standardized assessment tools, therapy and counseling techniques, and crisis intervention services. The incumbent will also provide clinical services as needed during times of workforce shortages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Trains and monitors new CRU and SUD residential program therapists and clinical staff.
- Provides ongoing clinical supervision of CRU and SUD residential program therapy and clinical staff according to agency and licensing standards.
- Assists the Residential Director in the implementation and oversight of the clinical services provided in these programs.
- Monitors documentation of clinical services in these programs to ensure they meet quality and utilization standards.
- Assists the clinical care team to develop measurable, observable, time-limited, independence-promoting objectives for inclusion in the treatment plan to address client's goals.
- Participates in interdisciplinary treatment meetings and 7-day reviews as required by Chapter 504, WV Medicaid manual; evaluating therapeutic interventions, assessing additional needs, and modifying interventions as indicated to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Provides crisis services and intervention and / or assistance with consideration of the principles of client choice and least restrictive alternatives.
- Carries a small clinical caseload of individual and group services and covers unmet clinical needs during staffing shortages.
- Completes and submits documentation as required by Valley, Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurances and any other licensing agencies. Employee ensures that documentation is completed accurately and timely and will reflect services the client(s) has received as appropriate.
- Attends all mandated trainings related to profession and enhances knowledge and / or skills which includes Relias Learning Trainings.
- Assess strengths and weakness of Therapists, to improve their delivery of evidence-based modalities.
- Uses clear communication skills, including "people first" language with clients and other professionals.
- Adheres to Valley's Standards of Conduct and Compliance and adheres to professional code of ethics in performing therapy services.
- Promotes appropriate community interactions by handling public interactions in a professional and competent manner. Returns telephone calls and requests for information in a timely manner, promotes a positive image of the agency, and maintains a good rapport with agency contacts.
