NATURE OF WORK: The internal affairs investigator will be responsible for conducting investigations as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer according to incidents which occur within the company. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling and conducting interviews, reviewing relevant documents, and traveling to Valleys various programs located throughout the organizations four county catchment region for the purposes of obtaining information pertinent to an investigation. The internal affairs investigator will also assign investigations to appropriate supervisory staff; track assignments, due dates, and pacing of investigations; as well as complete multiple-page written reports on strict deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Keep track of investigation assignments, the due dates of assignments, and the pacing of investigations
- Ability to travel throughout Valley HealthCare Systems four county catchment region for the purposes of obtaining investigative information
- Assist with the training of new investigative staff
- Assign investigations to appropriate supervisory staff
- Conduct investigations by interviewing Complainants, Witnesses, and Accused to obtain relevant information for the success of the investigation
- Present reports and regular updates of investigations to CEO/Compliance Director
- Obtain and evaluate relevant documents/documentation for the purposes of gaining information for the investigation
- Review previous investigations for trending data
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion to protect all involved in the investigation
- Make suitable and appropriate recommendations for the outcome of investigations
- Ensure the preservation of investigative documents by storing them appropriately and securely
- Collaborate with an investigative team of interdisciplinary personnel
- Handle sensitive situations involving co-workers discreetly and appropriately
- Adhere to Valleys Standards of Conduct and Compliance and adheres to professional code of ethics in performing services.
