NATURE OF WORK: The CD Residential Specialist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team and participates in treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients with substance dependence. This team member works as an extension to other team members and has the responsibility to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assists in treatment; provides education; supportive services; training and assistance with ADLs; and provides consultation and oversight to residential assistants under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Submit documentation in a timely and accurate manner as required by Valley, Medicaid, OSHA, and other licensing agencies.
- Provide basic living and recovery skills support to clients within the CD residential programs.
- Monitor clients within the CD residential unit to ensure their needs are met per the treatment plan.
- Will provide supportive counseling sessions for clients as indicated by the treatment plan
- Perform daily residential duties such as meal preparation, creating menus, shopping for meals and supplies, tracking inventory and stock same, self administration of medication, assuring all procedures are up to date in the RA procedure manual, client admission and discharge procedures
- Work with other members of the Treatment Team to coordinate services.
- Transportation of clients to meetings, medical appointment etc.
- Assists with cleaning duties on the Unit as assigned by Supervisor in order to meet licensure requirements.
- Support and help in the training and monitoring of residential assistants
- Assure that the safety, health and well being of consumers are always maintained on or off site.
- Attends all mandated trainings related to profession and enhances knowledge and/or skills which include Essential Learning Trainings.
- Adheres to Valleys Standards of Conduct and Compliance and adheres to professional code of ethics in performing services and implementing treatment plans.
- Promotes appropriate community interactions by handling public interactions in a professional and competent manner. Returns telephone calls and requests for information in a timely manner, promotes a positive image of the Program and the Agency, and maintains a good rapport with agency contacts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
- BA/BS in Human Service Field.
- Ability to legally transport clients.
- Ability to comply with Clients Rights.
- Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in working with addiction in a CD residential setting.
- Six months to one year experience in substance use/dependence
