NATURE OF WORK: This position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for the residents and staff by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling and monitoring the Valley Treatment Center grounds and security cameras. In times of extreme staff shortage, this individual will be cross trained as a Residential Assistant for the VTC residential SUD programs, and when needed at the direction of the SUD Residential Supervisor will assist residential staff in center wide room and Contraband safety searches.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to supervisor.
Monitors surveillance cameras and logs entries.
Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency, and then Supervisor.
After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
Reports suspicious activity on the property to Supervisor.
Current Mandt Certification or ability to be trained.
Current CPR/First Aid Certificate or ability to be trained.
Cross train as a Residential Assistant
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Security guard training certification preferred.
- Previous experience a plus, but not required
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Authoritative verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
- Must be able to comprehend written instructions and procedures.
- Ability to comply with Clients Rights.
- Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
