Valley County is looking for a Mechanic to help with the repair and maintenance of its fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. We are looking for a career-minded individual with a well-rounded background in automotive and heavy equipment diagnosis, service, and repair, and who is interested in a job with regular hours and incredible benefits.Typical responsibilities include servicing vehicles and equipment, including diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling a variety of mechanical systems such as gasoline and diesel engines, brake and clutch assemblies, transmissions and real axels, steering systems, and electronic controls. Mechanics use all standard garage tools, including grinders, welders, torches, and all manner of fabrication machinery and equipment.Typical Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous mechanical experience, including maintenance and repair on a variety of vehicles and/or heavy equipment, and experience with a large variety of tools and garage equipment. Experience with both gas and diesel engines is preferred but not mandatory. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required, and although not needed at the time of hire, possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) would be expected within 1 year of hire.
