What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at Valley Court Diversion Programs?
The mission of Valley Court Diversion Programs (VCDP) is to strengthen our communities by promoting accountability, repair, reconciliation, and support for those who have caused harm or been affected by it, using restorative justice principles. We are a small but mighty organization with an executive director (ED), an assistant director/case worker, administrative assistant, and 6 dedicated case workers who work collaboratively to serve clients in Windsor County, VT, and parts of Grafton and Sullivan Counties in NH. The ED is the public face of the organization and provides strategic leadership, organizational management, and resource development to fulfill the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
· Oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations, programs, and services.
· Hire, supervise, and support staff; foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture.
· Ensure legal compliance, risk management, and adherence to best nonprofit practices.
· Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board.
· Provide regular financial reports and ensure sound fiscal stewardship.
Programmatic Impact
· Develop and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff.
· Build relationships with stakeholders, community partners, and policymakers
· Lead the organization in advocating for restorative justice by expanding and deepening its impact in restorative justice work.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit, social justice, or restorative justice setting.
- Understanding and commitment to restorative justice principles and practices.
- Demonstrated success in organizational management and staff supervision.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of racial, social, and economic justice.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range based on experience: $75-85,000
